ON THE MEDICAL FRONT

THINGS TO DO OR BRING FOR S11…
… and a few things not to do.

bring
· WATER- for drinking and for washing off any capsicum spray
· GARBAGE BAGS- to wear as a rain coat, protection from capsicum spray
· VINEGAR SOAKED RAGS- wear as bandana over mouth to protect against tear gas
· SPARE CLOTHS- be able to change if your cloths get soaked with capsicum spray
· ZIP LOCK BAGS- to keep contaminated cloths in
· RESCUE REMEDY- 1 or 2 drops in a litre of water and use for washing of capsicum spray. Also good taken internally, a few drops under the tongue will help with shock
· WET WEATHER GEAR- in case of rain but also for protection against capsicum spray
· YOUR MEDICATION- if you are an asthmatic you may have a severe reaction to capsicum spray. Also police have been know to refuse people their medication while in custody if you cannot prove that it is yours and has been prescribed by a doctor.

do
· Wash your cloths a few times few with out laundry powder- if you get sprayed with capsicum spray the detergent will help it disperse and a bigger area will be contaminated.
· Wash with pure soap (no animal or vegetable oils)- any oil on your skin will help capsicum spray disperse and contaminate a larger area.
· Splash some witch hazle (or other astringent) on your skin as it will adsorb any oil you have on your skin

don't
· Wear make up, sun screen, moisturiser or any other oil based product- yes that's right, it will help disperse any capsicum spray
· Wear contact lenses- capsicum spray and tear gas may get trapped underneath them and do severe damage to your eyes.
