 Don't be a jock 

"Jocks" represent the competitive side of the human spirit, idolism, the quest for meaningless but socially acceptable goals, and physical dominance as a way of avoiding alternate realities. The jock achieves social standing by not questioning authority. The rebel instinct is channeled not to those above, but to those deemed acceptable targets below on the social ladder; dorks.

The terms Nerd or Dork are not specific. They classify someone only as not fitting neatly into this system of subservience and approval. Although not always by their own choosing this rejection may turn out to be the greatest gift available. Dorks are diverse, complex and therefore flawed. There is no ideal dork, and that is the dorks' greatest strength.

Nerds, we are learning that not only are the forms of social authority that rejected us arbitrary and cruelly unjustifiable, but that all forms of entrenched hierarchy are a threat to those of weak build and awkward manner. Only through rejection of the jock/capitalist mindset and creation of nerd/anarchist alternatives can we hope to achieve peace for our nerd brothers and sisters.

This man is a highly paid model.

Capitalism by it's nature tries to capitalise on all new social movements, repackaging and selling them back as vacuum sealed and vacuum headed parodies. Already they have seen the appeal of nerdisms as fashion statements. What can we do when they try to steal our freshness? Nothing we can do but stay true and steal stuff back. Most of the ideas on this site come from a 17 year old hollywood movie for instance.
